MARINE COLLAGEN + CO-FACTORS

THE SCIENCE

Meet your favourite Marine Collagen powder. Marine Collagen + Co-Factors is specially formulated to promote collagen production in the body, while supporting the health of your hair and nails.

Collagen is a protein the body produces, and the amount we have in our bodies affects skin firmness and elasticity.  Collagen production starts declining in your 20s, decreasing by about 1% per year throughout your adult life. Provide your body with the tools it needs to build collagen with a daily dose of Marine Collagen + Co-Factors.

When consumed orally, collagen peptides are absorbed into the bloodstream and reach the dermis where they stimulate the production of collagen as well as hyaluronic acid, another important component of the skin’s collagen matrix.
Vitamin C and the mineral Silicon are essential co-factors in a process called collagen crosslinking. This process improves collagen strength, function, and makes it more resistant to damage. Additionally, Vitamin C is an important skin antioxidant and Silicon maintains the health of skin, hair and nails.

Research has shown that collagen peptides can stimulate cells to increase collagen production. Topical applications of collagen would appear to be a logical approach, however, the barrier properties of the skin’s outer layer, the epidermis, prevents collagen peptides from reaching the dermal layer, the site of the collagen matrix.

SUSTAINABILITY

Choosing Bend Beauty Marine Collagen is a more environmentally conscious choice over bovine collagen. We source our hydrolyzed marine collagen from sustainably caught wild fish, primarily derived from Icelandic fisheries cod skins, with smaller amounts of haddock and pollock skins. Our Marine Collagen + Co-Factors is also proudly carbon-neutral.
